The police in 2023 were notified of 2,411 missing minors and juveniles, of whom 2,245 were found, TASR has learnt from Police Corps spokesperson Zuzana Hrabovska. Some of the individuals, the spokesperson said, were tracked down within a few days or even hours. "Unfortunately, there are also cases when a child goes missing for a longer period of time, sometimes even for a couple of years," she added. The largest group of missing minors last year was made up of children who escaped from social protection institution and facilities for asylum seekers.
