Slovakia might lose production of the renowned Božena demining and security systems for the neighbouring Czech Republic. According to information obtained by TASR, WAY Industries, the Krupina-based (Banská Bystrica region) manufacturer of the machine, has approached Czech investment agency CzechInvest with a request for a draft offer on moving the plant to the Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, the plan to move the production of Božena systems to the Czech Republic may be associated with the current activities of the company trade union, which has held two strikes since the beginning of this year. The Božena demining system is currently being used in more than 25 countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq and Sri Lanka.
