The Gorila case tapes ordered to be destroyed by the Constitutional Court

The Constitutional Court ordered the Slovak Information Service to destroy the results of wiretapping from the case Gorila. According to the Constitutional Court, by not doing so in the past, the Slovak Information Service violated the basic rights of Zoltán Varga, whose apartment was wiretapped in 2005 and 2006. The Constitutional Court says, the secret service violated the complainant's constitutional right to protection against unauthorized interference in private and family life. His rights were also violated according to the articles of the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The Slovak Information Service warrants for wiretapping Varga's apartment in 2005 and 2006 were approved by the Bratislava Regional Court but it was later annulled by the Constitutional Court as illegal, while Varga was right that his rights to privacy and judicial protection were violated.
