The social partners have not yet agreed on the minimum wage

Employers' unions did not agree with the amendment to the law on the minimum wage at Monday's meeting of the Economic and Social Council, trade unionists supported it with comments. This was stated by Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family Erik Tomáš. If the social partners do not agree on the amount of the minimum wage, the Ministry of Labour proposes that it be at the level of 60 percent of the average wage, instead of the current 57%. "We fear that, especially in the case of less economically developed regions, employers will have a problem complying with the proposed increases," stated the vice-president of the Republican Union of Employers, Mário Lelovský. The minimum wage was also to be discussed at the coalition meeting on Monday. However, they postponed the talks on this topic indefinitely.
