The government should decide on the planned construction of a new nuclear power block in Jaslovské Bohunice with an output of approximately 1,200 megawatts on Wednesday (May 15). Robert Fico said this on Monday. According to him, we are in a time period in which it is necessary to respond to energy needs.
"We want to use the existing infrastructure of the atomic power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice because it significantly shortens the permitting procedures and significantly enables us to proceed to decisions that could possibly take many years,“ says Fico.
The government wants to start the construction of a new block of the nuclear power plant during this election period. It should be a similar technology that is being used now. The difference, however, is that the new reactor is supposed to be state-owned.
