South Korea is an important trading partner and investor for Slovakia, and bilateral cooperation, both economic and political, should be further developed, said Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar (Smer-SD) at the beginning of his visit to the Asian country on Monday, adding that strengthening mutual ties should result in an agreement on a strategic partnership that should be signed in the future.
Blanar noted that South Korea is the fourth largest investor in Slovakia and the largest Asian investor as well. In 2023, bilateral trade amounted to €6 billion. Currently, significant economic cooperation in the automotive and electronics industries is taking place.
