Foreign Minister in Cyprus

Minister of Foreign Affairs Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) left for an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus on Wednesday evening. On Thursday (May 9), he will be received by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides. He will also negotiate with his counterpart Constantinos Kombos.

As part of the work program, the head of the Department of Diplomacy will also meet with the leadership of the peacekeeping mission of the United Nations Organization in Cyprus (UNFICYP), as well as Slovak soldiers and police officers working in this peacekeeping mission.

At the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Nicosia, Blanár will meet with important representatives of the Slovak community. At the end of the visit, at the invitation of the President of Cyprus, he will participate as a guest of honor at a ceremonial event on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus's accession to the European Union. The minister will return to Slovakia on Thursday night.
