If parliamentary elections were held in September, the winner would be the governing party SMER-SD with 36.7 percent of the votes. However, this is not enough for a majority in Parliament as the party would have 71 mandates in the 150-member Parliament.
This follows the results of a telephone survey by Polis Slovakia, conducted on September 12 - 21 on a sample of 1,312 respondents. The second strongest party would be the newcomer SIET of Radoslav Procházka with 12.7 percent and 24 mandates. Next would be MOST-HID with 9.1 percent and 18 lawmakers. In fourth place was the Christian Democrats (KDH) with 7.7 percent and 15 mandates. Also represented in Parliament would be OLaNO, the party of Igor Matovič as well as the ethnic Hungarian SMK party, both with 5.9 percent support and eleven mandates.
