Over the course of five months, a 56-year-old man illegally dumped more than 70 tonnes of waste in the north western town of Bolešov, near the bank of the Vah River.
Spokesperson for the Trenčín Regional Police Pavol Kudlička said that man has since been charged with improper waste management, after transporting construction and municipal solid waste on his lorry from December 2013 to April this year. “Gradually the illegal landfill received 71 tonnes of waste, with the cost of demolishing this illegal landfill, along with proper transport and waste storage representing €17,744”, said Kudlička, adding that the accused has also been threatened with imprisonment of six months to three years.
