On Friday, President Zuzana Čaputová will receive the great-nephew of Milan Rastislav Štefánik, Petr Kaňka, at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava. The occasion commemorates the 105th anniversary of the passing of Stefanik, who contributed decisively to the cause of Czechoslovak sovereignty. The president will symbolically pass on the White Lion of the First Class military group in memoriam, which was awarded to General Štefánik last year by Czech President Petr Pavel. The program will include a speech by the president, a speech by Petr Kaňka and a photo session.
