Earth Day: Planet vs. Plastics

Raise awareness about environmental issues such as climate change, air pollution, protecting wildlife and endangered species, and promoting green and sustainable activities - these are the objectives of Earth Day, which falls on 22 April each year. Every year, Earth Day has a specific theme. For 2024, it is "60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040."

During the day, various activities are held, including tree planting, cleaning of public spaces and nature, organising educational programmes, seminars and awareness-raising campaigns on environmental issues. Earth Day is an opportunity for individuals, communities and organisations to work together to protect and improve the environment. Many activities are organised on this day in Slovakia as well.
