Czech President Petr Pavel on Sunday also congratulated Peter Pellegrini and expressed his hope that together they will manage to continue traditionally good neighbourly relations.
Speaking on the prime time RTVS discussion programme on Sunday, the president-elect confirmed that he'll pay his first foreign visit in office to the Czech Republic. Pellegrini added that he won't change the direction of Slovakia's foreign policy anchored in the EU and in NATO. However, Slovakia must be more sovereign in these groupings, he said. Pellegrini wishes for the end of the conflict in Ukraine and to seek ways to resume relations with the Russian Federation. "Naturally, when this murderous conflict ends," he added.
