Three people were killed and seven injured in a bus accident on Saturday in Spišské Podhradí near Spišská Kapitula in the Levoča district. According to the police, the bus moved for unknown reasons and those who were standing in front of it and getting off ended up under the vehicle. Those involved in the accident were on their way to a diocesan youth meeting in Spišské Podhradie. Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok confirmed that the bus moved while the driver was still inside. Three young girls died, one girl is fighting for her life in a hospital in Košice. Six other people were also injured in the accident. President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová expressed her condolences to the survivors of the accident. She also thought of the injured and wished them to recover as soon as possible. According to Prime Minister Robert Fico, the tragedy is further proof of how human negligence can cause misfortune.
