Working pensioners expect raise in monthly payments

Over 160,000 working pensioners are expected to receive a raise in their monthly pension from the state social insurance company. "For the first time, we are paying an increased amount to working pensioners in the month of April." said insurance company spokesman, Martin Kontúr.

This comes as good news for those pensioners who are forced to work, due to a lack of money. However, money is not their only motivation for working, as Ľubica Gálisová from the Forum for Helping the Elderly explained. "If a person is active, they can be play a role at work, but work also has a positive impact on their mental and physical health. The second thing is that many have low pensions. So, they work because they need to earn more. They need to have a better standard of living."
