Food is not prohibitively expensive, says Ministry

Prices for food in Slovakia are not excessively high.  The Finance Ministry conducted a survey comparing prices in Slovak shops with those in neighbouring countries. Some items, such as eggs and Eidam cheese, are 12% to 20% more expensive than across the border, but pork loin, for example, is cheaper than in the Czech Republic or Hungary.
