Foreign policy should not be subject to domestic political struggles, said President Zuzana Čaputová at the Annual Review Conference on Foreign and European Policy of the Slovak Republic.
Referring to the events in Ukraine, she said that this is a struggle for universal values and therefore, even if everyone wants peace, just calling for it is not enough. If Ukraine is to sit down for peace talks, she says, it must sit there strong, which only international support will help. "A just peace and military assistance to Ukraine are therefore by no means mutually exclusive," she said.
