OECD sees sunny future for Slovakia

The growth of the Slovak economy will accelerate, from last year's 1.1 percent to 2.1 percent this year and to 2.6 percent in 2025. These are forecasts from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), published Monday. Inflation will gradually fall from 11 percent in 2023 to 3.4 percent this year and 2.7 percent next year.

The OECD also recommended cutting government expenditures. But the Social Affairs Ministry immediately reacted by saying it would not give up plans to give pensioners a thirteenth month, as promised by the new government.
