Headline year-on-year inflation in February amounted to 3.4 percent, which is well below the peak seen at the turn of 2022 and 2023, when it remained above 15 percent for four months, the Statistics Office reported on Friday.
In monthly terms, consumer prices in Slovakia grew by 0.5 percent from January.
The year-on-year inflation of 3.4 percent hit a 2.5-year low in February, although consumer prices were higher than the year before in all segments. Double-digit growth persisted in education, and growth increased to a double-digit level in the case of alcohol and tobacco as a result of a recent excise-tax hike.
