Jozef Hambálek has been taken off the EU's sanction list, along with two Russian businessmen with activities in Europe. The decision was cheered by Prime Minister Robert Fico, who pleaded for the lifting of sanctions on behalf of Hambálek.
The Council originally sanctioned Hambálek in 2022 as the president of the Europe chapter of the Russian nationalist motorcycle club Night Wolves MC, based in Slovakia.
