Slovak gas reservoirs are filled to approximately 99 percent of their capacity, Economy Minister Pavol Pavlis said on Wednesday confirming that the gas utility Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP) detected a drop of almost 25 percent in gas flows to Slovakia from Ukraine.
“The delivery of gas, even when restricted by 25 percent, still surpassed consumption in the country, which means that our reservoirs continue to be filled,” confirmed the Minister. At the moment, SPP is still fully capable of meeting all contractual commitments towards its clients, households or small- and medium-sized companies. Russian gas supplier Gazprom cites technical problems as the reason behind reduced gas flows not only to Slovakia, but to the whole of Europe, stated Minister Pavlis.
