Changing the statutes of the Slovak Intelligence Services was a deliberate attempt to undermine the power of the Presidency. That is the conclusion of President Zuzana Caputova. Until now, the head of the SIS had to be appointed by the head of State. The government last week approved a change in the statutes of the Intelligence Service, allowing it to bypass the President. This internal memo was not shared with the President’s office. (TASR, Sme)
