Today, Prime Minister Fico is in Prague to meet with the other leaders of the Visegrad-4 group. Upon arrival, he was booed and met with a large sign saying “Fico go home to Russia.‘
The Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who was also at the Paris meeting Monday, said his views on the war in Ukraine are "diametrically opposed" to those of Fico. "We all wish to have peace, but there's only one path towards peace and that's to stop the aggressor from fulfilling his goals,“ he said. The Czech Republic and Slovakia have first-hand historical experience with inefficiency of appeasement when facing aggressive regimes.
"I can't accept narratives that blame Ukrainians or even western states for being the ones fueling the conflict," said Fiala.
He said he will convey this message also to Fico in person. (TASR)
