Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák, who is currently on an official visit to Iran, called on this country‘s leaders to continue to pursue measures aimed at bringing Iran and the international community closer together.
“The signing of a final, credible and sustainable solution that will confirm the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear programme is in the interest of all parties concerned. It would be a big shame if this opportunity were passed up”, said Lajčák. He urged Iran to keep to the date of a final agreement with the group involving five permanent members of the UN Security Council (the US, the UK, Russia, China, France) and Germany. The two sides also discussed the signing of an agreement on the prevention of double taxation and the protection of investments between Slovakia and Iran.
