On Tuesday, the Slovak gas company SPP reported that gas delivery from Russia to Europe was lower than usual by a quarter. Over the past days the amount has been lower by a tenth.
There might be different explanations for the drop. Russia may be sending less gas because it is filling its own reservoirs. The second reason may be Russia’s reaction to the operation of reverse gas flows from the West to Ukraine. According to SPP, Slovakia has gas reserves which cover its domestic consumption for approximately five months.
