No-confidence vote postponed

No-confidence vote postponed

Debate on a no-confidence vote in Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova was postponed this morning; for the third time, there was no quorum because members of the coalition parties refused to show. There were 53 MP’s, a quorum of 76 is needed.

The chairman of the largest opposition party called it ‘undignified.‘

He said he does not understand why the Chairman of Parliament Peter Pellegrini did not schedule the meeting on a date when the minister could also come. Šimkovičová is on a business trip.

Roman Michelko, member of one of the coalition parties, said they would not block the next attempt: "I think that we will not obstruct this, it will simply take place and it will simply be said what can be said, only, of course, the minister must be present," he noted. (TASR)
