The Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies of the Slovak Technical University received accreditation from the Institution for Engineering and Technology, an international body. For the doctoral degree, it is now the only faculty in Slovakia or the Czech Republic with this recognition.
The IET is the largest professional (engineering) organization in the world, based in London. It was founded in 1871 and has more than 154,000 members in 148 countries. Oxford University, Cambridge University and Imperial College are also holders of accreditation by the British Institute of Technology IET.
