Government and private enterprise must work together, said president Caputova during her visit to Canada. "Governments can help create opportunities and conditions for success. By 2026, Slovakia will reinvest more than 3.6 billion euros or 5.3 billion Canadian dollars from the recovery plan to support green and digital transformation and new technologies. In the next six years, we will increase annually public funding of research, development and innovation by 14 percent," said Čaputová.
Canada and Slovakia can join forces in the areas of digital transformation, green technology support and innovation, plus matters to do with biotechnology and jobs in the future, said President Caputova's advisor on environment, energy, climate change and the business environment Norbert Kurilla at a Slovak-Canadian business forum in Toronto on Wednesday. "When it comes to decarbonising energy-intensive industries, Canada can be an inspiration for us and show how to use those modern technologies, he said.
The business forum was attended by representatives of 60 companies from Canada and Slovakia.
