Towns in the east of the country are still suffering from the damage caused by an earthquake last autumn and the government has allocated an extra one million euro to help rebuild, and another million for humanitarian needs.
There are also problems with water contamination, said the prime minister. "In 95 percent of these tests it has been shown that the parameters regarding the quality of drinking water have deteriorated significantly,“he said. For the long-term, eastern Slovakia needs a new dam. (TASR)
