Penal Code can be still improved, says Parliament Speaker

There's still room for improvement in the current wording of an amendment to the Penal Code, Parliamentary Chair Peter Pellegrini, Justice Minister Boris Susko and Prosecutor General Maros Zilinka concurred at their joint talks on Monday. The Prosecutor General plans to submit his legislative comments to the parliament Speaker, he considers important that the state will not lose possibilities to fight serious crimes.

According to Pellegrini, MPs are able to get to specific proposals between the first and second reading with regard to the parliamentary procedure. But he stated that this move does in no way change the governments political intention to come up with a change in the philosophy of the Penal Code.

The parliament is today discussing if they will discuss the Penal Code amendment in fast track procedure, but also the vetoed competence act and also on the plan is the second no-confidence motion against the Deputy Speaker of the Paliament Lubos Blaha by the opposition, because he shared a video of him replacing the portrait of the President with Che Gevara and removing the EU flag.
