On Tuesday 9th September on the international day of the victims of the holocaust Slovakia commemorates the victims persecuted by the wartime Slovak state, Jews and people of the Roma ethnic. 71,000 Slovak Jews were transported to concentration camps out of which only a few hundred survived.
The state plenipotentiary for Roma issues Peter Pollák says the message of these human victims is to never allow hatred and violence to come between the majority population, Jews, Roma and homosexuals.9th September has been made a remembrance day in Slovakia by the Parliament and is also a day that’s calling out against all display of racism, hatred, xenophobia, suppression and discrimination.
