Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar met with Palestinian Ambassador to Slovakia Safa Khaldi on Thursday to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip. Blanar voiced solidarity with victims on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides and underlined that it's necessary to put a stop to the military conflict straight away. "Slovakia condemns the terrorist attack by Hamas. We recognise Israel's right to defence, but it must be conducted in compliance with the international humanitarian law and that is currently being violated," said the minister.
Also broached in the meeting was the bilateral cooperation and its further expansion in development partnership and education. The minister informed the ambassador about the plans to increase the number of stipends for Palestinian students in Slovakia.
