SNS still plans to propose candidate for President

SNS, the smallest party in the government coalition, is still planning to put forward its own candidate for President. Rudolf Huliak, member of parliament for SNS, said his party will present its presidential candidate next week. As an explanation, he said that Peter Pellegrini had rejected the endorsement of his party. Pellegrini is widely considered the front runner for President. He is the leader of the second-largest party in government.

In a TV debate on Sunday, Michal Sipos of the opposition party ‘Slovakia,‘ called it blackmail. "If you don't give me something, I'll run for the post. If you give it to me, I'll back down," was his interpretation. Huliak disagreed.
