The Slovak U20 hockey team defeated their Czech counterparts in the opening match of the World Junior Championship on Tuesday. The match in Gothenburg, Sweden, ended 6:2. The Czechs scored the first goal and won the first period. In the second one, however, the Slovaks defeated the Czechs. The score was 2:1 The result of the match was decided at the end of the it, when the Slovaks scored four goals and the Czechs just one. Servác Petrovský was named the best player of the game for Slovakia. Petrovský scored two goals and added an assist.
