Porsche to Invest €300 Mn to Create 300 New Jobs in Upper Nitra Region

Porsche car maker will build a new facility worth almost €300 million to produce battery modules for electric cars at an industrial park in Horna Streda (Trencin region), due to create about 300 new jobs, Economy Minister Denisa Sakova (Hlas-SD) announced at a press conference on Wednesday.

Sakova pointed out that the Government had greenlighted a reallocation of almost €72 million in the EU funds to the creation of job opportunities in the Upper Nitra region.

Porsche has already built a development centre for robotisation and automatisation in the region and plans to launch the construction of additional facilities for the production of second-generation battery modules in February 2024. "Subsequently, the production of battery modules for Porsche Cayenne model, currently manufactured in Bratislava, will start as of 2025," added Sakova.

The contract on cooperation was signed by MH Invest executive Adrian Jenco and representative of Porsche Werkzeugbau Pavol Turna.
