The Government's proposed changes to the Whistleblower Protection Act will discourage whistleblowers and may lead to the obstruction of serious criminal investigations. This warning came from the chairwoman of the Office for the Protection of Whistleblowers (ÚOO), Zuzana Dlugošová.
The government wants the office to publish the reasons for granting protection. Also, to give employers the right to review of the protection granted.
"In addition to having a deterrent effect on potential whistleblowers, this may also lead to obstruction of investigations," she warned.
