Former police chief Steven Hamran says he is considering running for President. He will decide by Friday. Elections to succeed President Zuzana Caputova will be held in two rounds, probably in late March and early April. In the polls, the leader of the coalition party Hlas, Peter Pellegrini, leads by a large margin. His only challenger so far is former diplomat Ivan Korcok.
Hamran was fired by the incoming Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok in the first weeks of the new government.
