The anti-monopoly office has warned the European Commission that its independence may be threatened. The coalition party SNS has proposed a bill that would give the power to appoint and dismiss the head of the office to the government. At the moment, the head of the anti-monopoly office is appointed by the President, at the suggestion of the ruling government.
