Parliament on Tuesday is debating the budget for 2024. The government expects a deficit of more than 6 per cent this year, slightly below 6 per cent next year.
Every deficit contributes to the national debt. This is currently at 57 percent of GDP, but will rise to above 60 per cent says the Finance Ministry.
