The opposition parties in parliament continue to insist that the criminal law reforms are too important to be discussed in a fast track procedure. The speaker of parliament politely disagreed, and said the reforms are urgent and all members will get a chance to speak.
Maros Zilinka, the highest prosecutor in the land, has asked for a change in the proposed new rules for Whistleblowers. He thinks one particular element is unconstitutional: whistleblower protection cannot be withdrawn from people who have already been granted it. This would make the law retro-active, and this is against general rules of fairness and predictability.
