Opposition party calls for health care reform

The opposition party Slovakia has called on the president to overrule parliament and veto a new health bill. This Act was approved by Parliament but would in effect extend waiting lists in hospital care for another year. Maximum waiting times for surgeries were originally slated to come into effect as of January 2024, but have now been postponed to 2025. Slovakia thinks waiting lists are a more urgent issue than heatlh care reform.
