Slovakia is set to be directly represented in the World Bank Group for the first time in its history, according to a draft agreement on forming a long-term constituency in the World Bank Group.
Currently, Slovakia belongs to the so-called Belgian constituency within the World Bank Group, and now according to the draft agreement, the country will have direct representation via an official who will serve as an advisor to the executive director of the constituency for a period of seven years. The World Bank Group aims to eliminate poverty and offers loans, advice and customised resources to developing countries and countries in transition.
