Six members of the Judicial Council, out of a total of 18, filed a motion to dismiss their chairman Ján Mazák. The petition was initiated by one of the three new members appointed by the new government, earlier this month. But four of the judges who signed the petition were from the pool of nine, elected by judges. The petition accuses Mazak of questionable moments, obvious violations of law, in the words of one of the proponents.
Mazak said that there is nothing in the motion to appeal that would prove a repeated violation of his duties, and that he would defend himself.
