The director of the Agricultural Payment Agency resigned today. Jozef Kiss said he did so for personal reasons. “The situation around my person has reached the point where my children are being persecuted by a certain group of people who have some motives for this."
"It's really a red line for me that I'm not going to cross," Kiss said. He did not specify what he meant by the situation around him, or who the certain people are.
Kiss was appointed by the previous government under Igor Matovic, in June of 2021. The PPA agency is responsible for paying out agricultural subsidies.
