On Sunday, PM Robert Fico posted a video on his Facebook page in which he described Sme, Denník N, Aktuality.sk as well as Markiza TV as ‘enemy media’. Fico said these media have decided to do politics instead of journalism. He regretted that he defended Markíza TV channel in the 1990s. In the video, Fico described the Markíza journalists as arrogant.
"We will look at the more than 26 million euros that Markíza received from the previous government. Of course, we will look at the monopolistic behaviour of Markíza on the media market, which it is demonstrating today. If they are doing politics, they must also be held accountable for their political activities, " Fico said in the video.
Markiza has not responded to these accusations.
