Poverty is easing in Slovakia. This seems to be the conclusion of a new survey. Households who say they have enough money to pay the basics and save a little have increased: last year that was 51 per cent, this year 59 per cent. At the same time, the number of Slovaks who cannot make ends meet decreased, from 22 percent to 18 percent.
There are wide regional differences. The poorest region is Nitra, where 49 per cent live below the poverty line.
