Slovakia can rely not only on stocks of crude oil but also on the pipeline Adria in the event of halted or restricted crude oil supplies from Russia, according to Prime Minister Robert Fico.
The crude oil pipeline Adria interconnects Slovakia and Hungary while the companies Slovnaft, MOL and Transpetrol are currently working on its reconstruction. In November its capacity should be boosted from the current 3 million tonnes of crude oil annually to 6 million tonnes.
