The so-called Agreement of Martin of 1918, where Slovakia agreed to join the newly formed Czechoslovakia, is a reminder that European countries should cooperate to prevent a repeat of past tragedies. This was President Caputova’s message on Monday. She said the people who drafted and signed the agreement were not self-centered, but also had in mind the benefit of other nationalities, nations and states.
