M. R. Stefanik Airport in Bratislava has received a permit to operate wide-body aircraft for long-haul flights. Exotic destinations directly from Bratislava are now available. The airport considers the launch of long-haul flights to be a historic milestone. As of October 24, Airbus A350-900 aircraft began flying from Bratislava to Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Vietnam. The charter flights will take place three times a week - to Santa Clara in Cuba on Tuesdays, to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on Wednesdays, and to Vietnamese Phu Quoc Island on Thursdays.
