The head of the association of Slovak Towns and Villages warns that a number of municipalities will raise local taxes and fees next year. “ Those that didn't raise them last year will have to," he said.
Towns and villages are forced to increase taxes to compensate for funding that the government "took away", he said. "In addition, they face huge increases in spending. We've had to increase salaries twice this year for all employees, because of inflation” he said.
