Slovakia doesn’t feel the need for permanent NATO bases

“Slovakia doesn’t feel the need to have NATO bases on its territory, as it doesn’t have any notice of an immediate military threat or attack. However, the overall defense strategy of the North-Atlantic Alliance should be strengthened” says the Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák in today's interview for Hospodárske noviny daily.

Moreover, the head of Slovak diplomacy again approved of the EU sanctions against Russia, as he sees them as a means to force Russia and Ukraine sit at the negotiating table and find a solution to their mutual conflict.
